Disco Bay Boat Rentals & Charters was started by two friends with a shared love for the Delta, boating, and creating memorable experiences on the water. After years of spending time throughout Discovery Bay and the California Delta, we saw an opportunity to offer a premium, local boat rental experience built around comfort, safety, and great customer service.

Our goal is simple: to help families, friends, and visitors enjoy the beauty of the Delta with confidence. Whether you are cruising through the canals, exploring nearby waterways, fishing, or spending the day relaxing on the water, we want every guest to feel prepared, welcomed, and excited for their adventure.


Meet Richard Lee, Co-Founder of Disco Bay Boat Rentals & Charters.

After spending the last 8 years working inside a Google lab, Richard realized the Delta breeze, open water, and sunshine were calling louder than office air conditioning ever could. At 43, he decided to take his passion for boating, fishing, and the Discovery Bay lifestyle and turn it into something the whole community could enjoy.

That passion became Disco Bay Boat Rentals & Charters — a local boat rental experience built around comfort, quality, and helping guests create unforgettable memories on the California Delta.

Richard’s favorite boat is the Sport Boat, especially when he wants to get out to the fishing spots quickly. His local advice? Don’t rush through the Discovery Bay canals. Enjoy the cruise, take in the views, and know where the fast water begins before opening it up.

When he is not working, Richard is usually fishing, scouting new Delta sloughs, or making sure every guest has what they need for an epic day on the water.


Meet Andy Montero, Co-Founder of Disco Bay Boat Rentals & Charters.

Andy is a prior United States Coast Guard member who performed helicopter search and rescue operations in his earlier years. After his military service, he used his GI Bill to earn a degree in Business Marketing from San Jose State University.

Today, Andy owns Hygeia, a commercial janitorial company located in Silicon Valley. After a decade of success in business, he decided to combine his entrepreneurial experience with his lifelong passion for the water. At 43, he co-founded Disco Bay Boat Rentals & Charters to help others enjoy premium boating experiences throughout the Delta.

Andy has spent many years boating with family and friends across the Delta waterways and lakes throughout California. Whether he is wake surfing, knee boarding, tubing, wakeboarding, or simply cruising and enjoying the Delta breeze, being on the water has always been one of his favorite places to be.

One of Andy’s favorite parts of boating is helping others learn something new. He loves teaching people how to get up on a board and watching their smile grow once they are finally wake surfing on their own.

Favorite Boat: Wake Surf Boat — especially the Axis for its giant wake.

Local Tip: Don’t forget your sunblock. When you are out on the water all day, it is easy to forget how strong the sun can be while you are having fun.
